Best Gadgets and Accessories for Your Gaming Room in 2024

We've spent a lot of time and way too much money building the perfect gaming and content studio. We get asked all the time for ideas and inspiration to help others do the same. Aside from all the basic essentials like PCs, consoles, monitors, and other tech, there are so many cool gadgets and bits of gear you can pick up to make your gaming setup look and feel more epic than ever before. In today's guide, I'm going to go through a bunch of items that you can add to your gaming setup, ranging from budget items to much more extravagant ones. Let's dive in!

1. Framed Game Displays

Starting us off is this incredibly cool framed game display from a company called Framer Game. I came across these guys last year and thought it was such a cool idea. This is basically a way to display your favorite video games in your setup and showcase a bit of your gaming personality and history. Whether you want the nostalgia of displaying the first game you ever played or one of your all-time favorites, it's a really simple yet effective idea to add to your gaming setup.

As you can see here, I've gone for the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which was one of my favorite games when I was a teenager. There are a whole range of different styles that you can pick up from the Framer Game website. Prices can range from around £40 up to over £100, depending on the customization options you choose.

2. Geek Made Designs Controller Stands

Next up, check out this really nice controller stand that I'm using in my second setup. This is from a company called Geek Made Designs, and they create these lovely, sleek, and premium-looking wooden stands that are perfect for displaying your controllers. Whether you're using the standard controllers that come with your console or you've picked up a special edition one, these stands are a great way to show them off and add an extra bit of flourish to your setup.

The particular model I'm using is the Showoff model for the PS5 controller, which costs around £58. There are various different styles and materials to choose from, and each one is handcrafted, ensuring premium quality.

3. Custom PC Power Switch

This next one is probably one of the most unnecessary items in my whole studio but also one of the most satisfying: a custom PC power switch. To the untrained eye, this might just look like a switch to turn on your PC—and that's exactly what it is. I could turn on my PC the conventional way using the button on the case, or I can have this convenient and cool switch on my desk and turn the PC on while being nowhere near it. Plus, you can replace the key cap with any that you fancy, making the PC switch even cooler.

This particular switch cost me £25 on Amazon, but you can find cheaper versions on places like AliExpress for as little as £10.

4. Framed Posters

Another incredibly simple yet effective addition is a framed poster. It's a super effective way of filling up empty wall space and adding some character to the room. What I did was buy the poster and the frame completely separately so that I could choose any poster design and then simply get a frame that fits it. All in all, I paid £55 for this, but you can definitely get cheaper posters and frames to match your personality.

5. Mini Statues and Figurines

Moving back to gaming, if you're like me, you love kitting your room out with cool decorations. Epic mini statues like the one I have on my draw unit are a fantastic way to do this. The one I have is from the Spider-Man 2 Collector's Edition PS5box set, and it looks absolutely fantastic. You can get standalone statues and figures that typically cost between £50 to £150, depending on the quality.

6. Mini Retro Arcade Machines

For all the fans of retro gaming and nostalgia, this next gadget is perfect for you: a fully functioning mini retro arcade machine. This particular one is Ms. Pac-Man, and aside from perfectly fitting the nostalgic retro aesthetic vibes, it is a fully functional Ms. Pac-Mangame. This one costs £40, and if Ms. Pac-Manisn't your vibe, there are various other classic game machines that you can pick up instead.

7. Deconstructed Tech Wall Art

If retro gaming tech is your vibe, then deconstructed tech wall art from a company called Grid Studio is a must-have. They take all kinds of tech—from retro game controllers to phones—and display them beautifully within frames. I have multiple in my room, including a Game Boy Advance, a PS1 controller, and a PS4 controller. Most of these frames cost around £50 on their website, although some more expensive ones are available.

These are just a few of my top picks if you're looking to really spice up your gaming room and make all your friends jealous.
