Since quite some time ago, I've had a soft spot in my heart for Wooting's keyboards. Before reading this review, I had already inspected both of the company's earlier first-rate keyboards, the Wooting One and the Wooting Two, and I was impressed by what I saw. That makes today's new arrival even more exciting, as the Wooting Two HE, the company's most recent and greatest product, should already have the makings of a fantastic mechanical keyboard, but it also has to live up to my absurdly high expectations. This makes today's new arrival even more exciting.
Thankfully, the answer is an unequivocal yes.

The Wooting Two HE features analog key control. This means that when you press a key on the keyboard, such as the W key, the keyboard will measure the full range of motion of that key rather than sending a simple on/off signal to your personal computer. That means you could switch between walking and running in a game without using a controller, or even have some semblance of control in a driving game without an analog stick or wheel. Additionally, that means you could change your range of movement between walking and running in a game without using a controller. This is perfect for games like Grand Theft Auto V, in which you frequently switch between moving around on foot, driving a vehicle, and even flying.
The Wooting Two HE, on the other hand, measures analog input in a manner that is distinct from both the Wooting One and the Wooting Two. The older Wooting boards relied on optical Flaretech switches, but the newer HE board uses the Lekker switch, which was made by Wooting in collaboration with a well-known switch maker called Gateron. To achieve analog input, the newer HE board relies on the Hall effect, hence the name "Wooting Two HE."
The power of magnets is necessary for the Hall effect to occur. The stem of every Lekker switch contains a magnet, and the Wooting Two HE is able to accurately track the full depression and return of the mechanical switch by measuring the magnetic force of that magnet as it moves. This is accomplished by using a Hall effect sensor on the PCB of the keyboard, which measures the magnetic force of the magnet as it moves.
The power of magnets is necessary for the Hall effect to occur.
That is one of the things that I have loved about every Wooting keyboard I have looked at so far, and the Wooting Two HE is no exception: they are not built on a great concept; rather, they deliver it. Even if you think you're sold on the analog movement of the Wooting, which can be limited in scope depending on the games and genres you prefer, there are a lot of other great reasons to love it beyond that, and there are a lot of other great reasons to love it.

I don't like 60% keyboards. When I make an admission like that so early on in a review of a new 60% keyboard, it's natural for you to wonder if I'm qualified to write the review in the first place. In addition, I am fully aware that you will already be familiar with the high score and the award badge, and that you may currently find this entire opening monologue to be somewhat absurd. However, despite the fact that every other 60% keyboard I've ever used has been undeniably cute, none of them have been suitable for the kind of everyday use that's required.
Mountain is not the first company to develop modular keyboards; in fact, Asus made its own keyboards many years ago; however, Mountain is the first company to get it right. The fact that the modular components can be mounted in a variety of ways using a variety of different options makes the entire assembly something that is actually useful rather than merely a clever marketing ploy. The Everest 60 is not modular on its own, but there is a dedicated numpad that can be purchased separately and is also hot-swappable. This numpad can be purchased separately. The fact that it can be attached to either side of the board is extremely important to me.
If you are still using a numpad that is located on the right-hand side of your gaming keyboard, then you are doing things all wrong. The primary advantage of using a smaller keyboard is that your mouse and WSAD hands can be brought closer together. Additionally, moving the numeric keypad to the left side of the keyboard allows you to continue to make use of the additional buttons as well as the additional desktop space for your gaming rodent.
It is without a doubt the most enjoyable experience I have ever had when typing, and I find using it to be a real pleasure.
In addition, the company's Mountain mechanical keyboard switches, which are being included for the first time in the Everest 60, have left an excellent impression on me. Tactile 55, Linear 45, and Linear 45 Speed are the three variations that can be purchased separately from Mountain. Tactile 55 denotes the amount of force, in cN, that is required for actuation, while Linear 45 and Linear 45 Speed have a shorter travel distance and actuation point. The Tactile 55 that I've been using in my sample feels great, and I've been using it. Really stable, extremely responsive, and factory lubricated, so there is none of the grittiness that you can occasionally get from a tactile switch.
There is a cost associated with all of this excellent keeb content, however. The Everest 60 by itself costs $140 (£110), and the hot swappable numpad adds another $50 (£35) to the total price, making the entire package quite pricey. There are some packages that include both of these things, as well as ones that include the colorful new PBT keycap range, and these packages can be purchased together to save money. However, not by very much.
I suppose that describes enthusiast keyboards at the moment, and to tell you the truth, there is a sense of quality to the design and manufacturing of every part of this package, including the base, the switches, the numpad, the connections, and the keycaps, which almost makes the pricing understandable.
